JMU Dining has you covered. 

Due to our shared kitchen environments, JMU Dining cannot guarantee that food items produced in our kitchens are gluten free. We use the "Made Without Gluten" statement and menu icon to identify selections that are made with ingredients that do not contain gluten. 

True Balance

True Balance stations (D-Hall & E-Hall) omit gluten and the top 9 food allergens. The menu items served at this station are prepared in a dedicated space, using dedicated equipment by employees who have completed allerge and gluten free training. 

Supplemental Pantries

  • Worry-Free Zone @ D-Hall
    • A locked pantry room stocked with gluten-free, peanut-free, and tree-nut free products. 
    • Students who are medically required to limit or avoid gluten, peanuts, and/or tree nuts should reach out to our Health & Wellness manager to learn about access. 
  • Stress-Less Corner @ E-Hall
    • A self-serve station with products made without gluten, peanuts, and tree nuts. Open to all. 

Additional Options

Here are just a few of the Made Without Gluten options available at our 30 dining locations. 

  • Breads: Made Without Gluten bread options are available at multiple locations across campus, including our delis. Options including hamburger buns, bagels, sub rolls, and wraps vary by location. 
  • Pizza: Locations including Heirloom Pizza in Dukes Dining, E-Hall, and Italian Kitchen at Bistro 1908 offer Made Without Gluten pizzas. 
  • Desserts: The bakeries at E-Hall & D-Hall offer packaged gluten free treats upon request. 
  • Fryers: Dedicated fryers for made without gluten items can be found at multiple locations including D-Hall's Hen & Harvest and Mixto stations, and Bistro Burger in Bistro 1908. 
  • Snacks: Retail stores, like Market 64 & Mr. Chips, offer a robust variety of packaged gluten-free snacks, fresh fruit and grab-n-go items.
