With 30 locations on campus, JMU Dining offers a robust variety of plant-based options at all locations from our all-you-care-to-eat facilities (D-Hall & E-Hall) and grab-n-go retail locations.
Know The Lingo
- Plant Forward: A style of cooking that emphasizes healthy plants at the center of the plate. *May contain a proportionally small quantity of animal protein.
- Vegetarian: Contains no meat, fish, or poultry.
- Vegan: Contains no animal products of any kind.

- Dedicated Station
- Plant Forward Station at D-Hall has both vegetarian and vegan options.
- Salad Bars
- Plant-based proteins like edamame and beans are available on all salad bars.
- Desserts
- Plant Forward Station (D-Hall) offers vegan soft serve and vegan desserts.
- Both D-Hall and E-Hall's bakeries offer vegan desserts.
Food Traditions
Dukes love their traditions, especially when it comes to food.
- Peanut Butter Pie Wednesday
- Vegan version of Peanut Butter Pie is available at Plant Forward station in D-Hall.
- Buffalo Mash Friday
- Vegan version of Buffalo Mash is available at Plant Forward station in D-Hall.
